Principles of forage culture, utilization and ecology (3 credits)

PREREQUISITES

AGSC 110, Crop Production Systems

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
  • Become familiar with important forge crop species in the Midwest
  • Understand forage crop management strategies
  • Understand measurements of forage quality
  • Grain experience with forage breeding and seed production
  • Learn about biotechnology and novel uses of forage crops
EXPECTATIONS OF THE STUDENTS
  • Three examinations (33% of final course grade)
  • Written papers and class reports (33% of final course grade)
  • Attendance and participation (33% of final course grade)
