Principles of forage culture, utilization and ecology (3 credits)
PREREQUISITES
AGSC 110, Crop Production Systems
OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
- Become familiar with important forge crop species in the Midwest
- Understand forage crop management strategies
- Understand measurements of forage quality
- Grain experience with forage breeding and seed production
- Learn about biotechnology and novel uses of forage crops
EXPECTATIONS OF THE STUDENTS
- Three examinations (33% of final course grade)
- Written papers and class reports (33% of final course grade)
- Attendance and participation (33% of final course grade)
