OBJECTIVES
  1. To learn facts, terms, and concepts of cells, tissues, organs, and systems with regard to form and function.
  2. To compare the interrelationships between various systems.
  3. To identify the control mechanisms for body functions.
  4. To correlate the various body systems with the whole animal.
  5. To understand the "normal" or "healthy" animal as a background for the understanding of alterations in the body that are known as "diseases".
  6. The practical uses of all the above objectives will be emphasized.
BASIS FOR EVALUATION

Periodic lecture exams: 3 @ 100 points = 300 points
Lab exams: 3 @ 100 points = 300 points
Periodic quizzes: ~15 @ 10 points = ~150 points
Comprehensive final exam: 100 points = 100 points
Total pts possible = ~850 points

(Quizzes: we will have a brief quiz at the beginning of each Wednesday lecture; it will cover the material in the previous 3 lectures. There will also be quizzes following several of the labs.)

Grading scale: >90% = A, 80-89% = B, 70-79% = C, 60-69% = D, <59% = F
