AGSC 354: BOVINE REPRODUCTION PRACTICUM

Students will apply their knowledge of reproductive anatomy and physiology in hands-on field and laboratory exercises. COURSE OBJECTIVES The objectives of this course are to familiarize students with a broad view of reproductive physiology and anatomy of cows and bulls, as well as the technical aspects of cattle breeding and artificial insemination. To the extent that is possible, each student is expected to observe the cow herd for signs of the onset of parturition and participate in normal and assisted parturition practices. Students will be guided through attempts to artificially inseminate selected cows postpartum. EXAMINATIONS AND GRADING
