Internships

Purpose and Goals of Internships
Internships are valuable experiences and are strongly encouraged of our students as an extension of their in-class learning experiences. Internships

  • provide an extension of in-school experiences;
  • provide an opportunity for the student to use classroom theory in the practical realm of the workplace, thereby providing integration of theory and practice;
  • inform the student of current practices within agriculture;
  • help the student to better articulate their professional goals;
  • help the student to improve their interpersonal skills as they seek out and obtain their internship;
  • introduce the student to professionalism within the realm of the workplace;
  • allow the student to model life-long learning before graduation.
