Student Experiences
Being an agriculture student at Truman definitely has its benefits. Agriculture is, comparatively, a small major. This small size provides students with a great opportunity to form close relationships with people of similar interests. It also leads to close student-faculty interaction, which is hard to come by at many other institutions. The opportunities for involvement are endless. Many agriculture students spend a lot of their time at the University Farm. The farm is open to all students, regardless of their level of experience. Students also have a large number of agriculture related student organizations to choose from. It is safe to say that most of the agriculture students have gotten everything they expected and more out of their experience at Truman. Below you can meet some current students and decide if their experience as a Truman State Aggie is what you are looking for.

What do you like about the agricultural science program at Truman?
I really like that our major is small in comparison to other majors on campus. We all know each other pretty well which makes going to classes fun! I also like that we get to know the faculty on a one-on-one basis. The department also offers a lot of opportunities to learn outside of the classroom.
Words to leave you with…
COME TO TRUMAN!!! When you come, make sure to get involved with at least one ag-related organization and one non-ag-related organization. The ag organization will allow you to further your learning in the area you’re studying and the non-ag organization will allow you to meet other great people.
