What attracted you to Truman?
What first caught my attention at Truman was the more intimate teacher to student ratio as opposed to other schools. When I first visited, I was able to sit in on a class that was relevant to my area of interest and see how the subject was taught in a different environment.
What do you like best about Truman?
I love the different areas in which students can get involved. Anyone can dip their toes into different areas of interest beyond their major or even extracurricular activities. Within my own major, I especially love the different opportunities in which I can spend out at the University Farm as well as dealing with the animals.
What do you like most about your classes?
I especially enjoy the freedom and flexibility that I have encountered with college classes that gives me a sense of responsibility for my own learning. In the Ag department, specifically, I love how hands on each class is and how the professors always incorporate a positive atmosphere and attitude.
What do you feel is unique about Truman?
I feel that everyone knows everyone. Especially in the Ag department, the teachers and students definitely get to know one another closely which just makes the learning experience all the more enjoyable.
Have you studied abroad, done an internship, or
participated in undergraduate research?
I have participated in an experiment in creating noodles with high amylose corn starch using different mixtures.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to continue my education in vet school and become a large animal vet.
